In 1921,a fire ravaged the heart of Indian Lake - its downtown.Starting in Tripp's Garage,it spread east, through Pelon's Hall and Pelon's Hotel. With no fire deparment, and no ready source of water,it was necessary to dynamite Nelson Ste. Marie's store, which was next in line. The fire was stopped. (Aber)
